NO cases of cervical cancer have been detected in fully vaccinated individuals in West Dunbartonshire.

Marie McNair, Clydebank MSP, applauded the news, highlighting the success of the HPV vaccination programme.

Public Health Scotland's figures reveal no cervical cancer cases in fully vaccinated women since the immunisation programme's inception in 2008.

Ms McNair emphasised the vaccine's importance.

She said: “Across West Dunbartonshire and Scotland, more broadly, we have made life-saving progress in detecting cervical cancer and providing preventative treatment.

“The facts speak for themselves: there have been no cases of cervical cancer detected in those who have been fully vaccinated.

“There can be no doubt about the efficacy of this preventative healthcare, and I encourage all those in West Dunbartonshire who are offered this vaccine to take it.”
